If you haven’t worked it out by now, I love escaping to the woods.Having the stunning Dandenong Ranges on my doorstep has only cemented this love and fascination for tree-clogged paths, dappled shade and peaceful glades.
This weekend Ryan and I were back in the Dandenong Ranges National Park to tackle the Sherbrooke Loop trail from beautiful Belgrave.
Belgrave is famed for being home to the ‘Puffing Billy’ the scenic railway which chugs its way round the Dandenong National Park filled with goggling tourists.
We caught a glimpse of ol’ Billy as he was getting ready for an outing.
A couple of minutes into the hike we were puffing as much as Billy, this walk was a lot steeper than we’d anticipated…
After tackling the
steep cliffs rolling hills of Belgrave, we disappeared deep into the forest…
Halfway round the hike we stopped off at a visitor centre for a much need flat white. We even managed to make some new feathered friends…
HOME TO KANGAROOOOOOOOOOS!!!!!!!!!
Yes! We saw our first wild kangas, chilling out in a glade without a care in the world. Then, guess what!
Can you see it? It’s in the far right corner of the above pic.
With an extra bounce in our step, we completed the hike and had a gander around Belgrave which was a lot more cutesy and colourful than I’d expected it to be.
